Less Common or Rare Side Effects Some side effects are less frequent but require immediate medical attention if they occur: Allergic reactions, including skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, or throat (Quincke's edema), difficulty breathing (asthma attacks), or anaphylactic shock. Blood disorders, such as a significant reduction in white blood cells (leading to fever or signs of infection) or a decrease in platelets (causing nose or gum bleeding). Confusion or hallucinations. Urinary retention (difficulty passing urine). Rapid or irregular heartbeat (palpitations) or a fall in blood pressure. Abnormal excited behavior (agitation, nervousness, insomnia), particularly in infants and children. Sensitivity to sunlight, so exposure should preferably be avoided during treatment. Important Considerations Vithiol should not be used in children under 2 years of age due to the risk of potentially fatal respiratory depression. Avoid consuming alcohol or other central nervous system depressants while taking Vithiol, as this increases drowsiness and impaired alertness.
