Serious Side Effects If any of these occur, stop the medication and seek medical attention immediately: Severe or slowed breathing (especially in children under 2 years old, where it is contraindicated) Signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat) Uncontrolled muscle movements (twitching of eyes, face, tongue, arms, or legs) High fever, stiff muscles, increased sweating, and confusion (symptoms of Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome) Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), which can indicate liver problems Unusual bruising or bleeding Fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat Seizures Important Precautions Children under 2 years old: This medication is contraindicated in children younger than 2 years due to the potentially fatal risk of respiratory depression. Driving/Operating machinery: Due to drowsiness and dizziness, do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how the drug affects you. Alcohol: Avoid alcohol, as it can worsen the sedative effects. Sun sensitivity: Avoid prolonged or unnecessary sun exposure and use protective clothing/sunscreen, as the medication makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
