You should not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Alcohol: Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Dacof syrup, as it can increase drowsiness and other side effects. MAO Inhibitors: Dacof syrup should not be used if you are currently taking, or have taken within the past two weeks, a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant, as this can cause dangerous interactions. Serious Side Effects: While rare, serious side effects can occur, including severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, swelling of the face/throat, trouble breathing), a fast or irregular heartbeat (tachycardia), or mental/mood changes like hallucinations or confusion. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these. Children: Dacof dry cough syrup is generally not recommended for children under 12 years of age, and all cough and cold medications should be used with caution in children.
