While the overall risk is small, Yasmin is associated with a slightly higher risk of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, heart attack, and stroke) compared to some other combined pills.
You should not take Yasmin if you:
Smoke and are over 35 years old.
Have a history of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke.
Have certain conditions like severe high blood pressure, diabetes with vascular damage, or certain liver or kidney diseases.
Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
